Thanks for being here.
Hi! I’m Charlotte.
I’ve always felt like I live two dreams.
The ski bum dream. Live out of a converted van. Chase snow. Leave no trace.
I grew up in a small rural town in the foothills outside of Lake Tahoe with my mom. My dad put me on a pair of skis when I was 2. And my entire life, I’ve always felt most fulfilled in nature.
I’m at home when I’m on a hike, in the mountains, by the water, in a forest or in the countryside.
The bosslady dream. Work hard. Create something meaningful to the world around me. Leave a mark.
I’ve lived in San Francisco and worked at tech companies in marketing for the last 10 years, escaping the city most weekends for another adventure.
Embracing the dreamy ambitions, diverse cultures and many ways of thinking here, I’ve fallen in love with being in the thick of it all.
Starting The Ski Retreat as a passion project is my attempt at the best of both worlds. Sharing the best of life in nature intimately with a community of bossladies.
When I’m not writing autobiographical pages about myself, I’m usually itching to get off my computer—to leave the city, go on hike and be back in time to explore the newest restaurant down the street.
I spend most of my free time with the people I love most—my best girlfriends, my family, my boyfriend, and, most importantly, my little 12 year old pug and Zen teacher, Martian (who you’ll meet on the retreat!)
It means the world to me that you’re even reading this, and I sincerely hope we get to meet one weekend this season.
At the least, say hello. It’ll make my day.
If you want to get involved with TSR or if there’s any way that we can support each other formally or otherwise, I’m especially excited to talk!
Bringing the stoke!
Hi! I’m Rachel.
So, hopefully you just read all about Charlotte. If not, you should, she’s rad! When I first met her, I knew immediately we were kindred spirits! It’s really crazy how similar we are.
I TOO have always been torn between
TWO versions of myself.
I am originally from New York City. Born and raised on the Upper West Side, I am a true city kid. When most people were learning to ride bikes, I was cruising the subway and walking around the Impressionist wing at The Met by myself.
Needless to say, I was on the fast track to a desk job and an uninspired life…
...thankfully, the desk life just wasn’t meant to be. I love going to the beach but my real passion has always been the mountains. My mom first put me on skis when I was 2 and I’ve been hooked ever since. When I switched over to snowboarding at 15 (because it was the cool thing to do) I absolutely LOVED IT. I knew I needed to get better at it and the only way to do that was to live in a ski town.
So I packed my bags and moved to Vail, Colorado for one season.
But “one season” quickly turned into 6 years.
In Vail, I was physically and mentally challenged on a daily basis + maybe most importantly I met my Lady Shred Posse that changed my life forever. Since then, the outdoor community has become my family and I’m all about trying to inspire people to get outside and live their best lives.
My dream has been to recreate the ridiculous amount of fun and camaraderie that I feel when I hit the slopes with my Lady Shred Posse for other women around the country since my time in Vail. I’m so stoked to now be able to help do this as part of The Ski Retreat!
